Graduation!!!

My year at the Royal Academy of Music has come to an end… On 3rd of July I received my Master of Arts in Baroque Cello with Distinction.

I’m very happy and sad at the same time, looking back on a very intense year filled with many challenges that proved to be just what I needed.
I’m very excited for the things that are to come on the baroque as well as the modern cello following my studies while also continuing to work with Jonathan Manson on the viola da gamba.

Thank you to everyone I met in London, you made this year absolutely fabulous and I can’t wait for what’s next to come in this amazing city!

First public performance with the Viola da Gamba

After only six months of learning I will have my first public appearance as a viol player in the Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata series on Sunday. I’m excited and terrified in equal measure.

April 19, 2015 – 12:00
Venue: Duke’s Hall

BWV 204 “Ich bin mir vergnügt”
BWV 76 “Die Himmel erzählen die Ehre Gottes”

Leader: Rachel Podger
Director: Iain Ledingham

New cello!!!

Very exciting news!!!
I have recently bid on a cello in an auction at Sotheby’s and got it!!!

So please meet my gorgeous new cello by John Betts (around 1800).

At the moment it’s in modern setup, but I will soon return it to it’s former state as a classical cello with a removable endpin, wooden tailpiece and of course gut strings. Can’t wait!!

First concert with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the OAE in their concert with conductor Vladimir Jurowski!
We will play exciting music by Modest Mussorgski and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky in the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Palace of Arts in Budapest.
