BIANCA RIESNER

cello & viola da gamba

CD out now!!

It is my great pleasure to let you know that our CD with the famous Four Seasons by Vivaldi under the direction of Jordi Savall is out! The soloist is Alfia Bakieva, an incredible violinst. I had the great pleasure to record the lovely Concerto for Violin and Cello “Il Proteo” as the cello soloist alongside her and accompany her as continuo cello for the Seasons.

If you want to have a listen, the recording is on Spotify! But better yet, you could by copy here!

It’s especially funny that my self-knit sweaters have both made it into the booklet… 😉

Le Concert des Nations Academy

I’m absolutely thrilled to be chosen for the Professional Academy of Le Concert des Nations!
This will give me the chance to learn from Jordi Savall and his brilliant musicians and to join the orchestra in concerts and tours.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for what’s to come!

COVID-19

As you all might have gathered by now Europe is hit by the outbreak of a new virus, covid-19.

As a consequence all my future concerts have been cancelled until further notice.

Whoever happens to be an Austrian musician affected by cancellations can fill out this survey, which will be discussed with members of the government in Austria.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again safe and sound and healthy in the hopefully near future!

Monteverdi Apprentice Scheme

I’m thrilled to have made it into the Monteverdi Apprentice Scheme! This gives me the opportunity to work with the English Baroque Soloists as well as the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique under the guidance of Sir John Eliot Gardiner for a year.

I’m very much looking forward to coachings and workshops with the principals of both groups and joining the orchestras in rehearsals and on tour. Exciting times!

Come join Istante at St Stephen’s Festival!

Italians across alps2

Period-instrument ensemble Istante present a colourful programme of chamber works and suites by Italian composers who migrated northwards, towards Austria, France and England, bringing with them the musical taste and instrumental techniques of their homeland. Handel features as a central figure who absorbed the Italian style during his youth and championed it abroad to great acclaim.

It will be a very nice concert at St Stephen’s Church on the 8th of June!

SIMPLY VIOLS – Jon Rees and Bianca Riesner
